Abstract
Kemajuan teknologi telah mengubah kehidupan masyarakat secara signifikan. Penggunaan smartphone telah meningkat, berbagai efek samping yang ditimbulkan karena penggunaan smartphone yang berlebihan pun telah muncul. Selain memberikan dampak positif, smartphone juga dapat memberikan dampak negatif, salah satunya nomophobia. Banyak faktor yang dapat menyebabkan individu menjadi cemas ketika jauh dari smartphone, salah satunya loneliness. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan loneliness dengan nomophobia pada mahasiswa generasi Z di Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional. Populasi pada penelitian ini sebanyak 472 mahasiswa yang merupakan mahasiswa aktif di Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Partisipan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 216 mahasiswa yang tergolong dalam generasi Z. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan skala nomophobia yang disusun berdasarkan aspek yang dari Yildirim & Correia (2015) dan skala loneliness yang disusun berdasarkan aspek dari Russel (1996). Pengujian hipotesis pada penelitian ini menggunakan korelasi Spearman’s rho dengan bantuan SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) for windows versi 26. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan nilai rho = 0,848 dengan signifikansi p = 0,000 (p<0,01) sehingga ada hubungan positif yang sangat signifikan antara loneliness dengan nomophobia pada mahasiswa gen Z.
