Abstract
In recent years, the issue of polygamy has often been discussed in the media because there have been webinars that teach about polygamy. This has brought gender issues back to the surface, especially for women who do not support polygamy, as was the case in the Polygamy Mentoring webinar which is in the Narasi Newsroom content. As is known, the webinar was advertised massively on social media. It attracted curiosity from the public who feared they could practice polygamy without knowing its other meaning. This study aims to reveal the purpose of the message conveyed by Kiai Hafidin in the Narasi Newsroom: Buka Mata content as a paid polygamy mentor. The method used is Sara Mills' critical discourse analysis. The study result explains the position of the subject, object, and reader with two different theories namely Nancy Hartsock's Standpoint theory and Karl Marx's Critical Theory to strengthen the research results. The research concludes that the existing discourse represents women as oppressed and weak figures coupled with power relations between families to the power of Kiai Hafidin who is strong because he holds the wheels of the family economy.
