Abstract
PT. Sumber Prima Mitra is a company engaged in manufacturing standing in 2011, producing various types of products curtains and blind as a roller blind, blind, vertical blind, venetian blind made from raw materials fabric. The probleme faced by PT. Sumber Prima Mitra now is in the design layout production facilities excluding proximity, work at the station that led to displacement far material. The risks that can occur if this keep happening is increase the production process, an increase in production costs, so the level of productivity production not optimal. As for the purpose of this research is to provide suggestions of improvements in the layout production facilities and cut the gap displacement material and material handling.The method in use in designing the layout of a production facility is used Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) that analyzes the degrees of relationship between departments use Activity Relationship Chart (ARC) and using a Relationship Activity Diagrams (ARD) that serves to get a about the layout of his other departments.It is expected that the method used Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) can cut the gap the material, so as to minimize the cost material handling.The result obtained in this research is cut the gap displacement material from 69 m be 30,5 m and decrease the cost of material handling Rp. 13.083.403 / months to Rp. 7.099.587/months.
