Abstract

The city of Surabaya is the second largest city in Indonesia after Jakarta, none other than some people in the city of Surabaya who choose to commit crimes in order to get money instantly to meet their daily needs. Among the many cases of crime, this is caused by a lack of information to the public about areas where crime often occurs, so information is needed with the incorporation of geospatial technology to visualize the spread of crime packaged in the form of regional maps. Based on these problems, the researchers built a geospatial visualization by combining the k-means clustering algorithm method. The k-means clustering algorithm method is used to classify crime-prone areas from the geospatial system, the results of clustering the distribution of crime in the Surabaya area in 2020- 2022 consist of cluster 3, namely areas with medium crime rates covering 6 subdistricts (1,260 cases), cluster 1 with areas with high crime rates, namely 12 subdistricts with 2,363 cases, and cluster 2 areas with low crime rates consisting of 13 sub-districts with 2,178 cases. The results of the implementation of the geospatial technology system in the form of a graphic map as information on crime points for the City of Surabaya can be accessed by the Kota Besar Resort Police (Polrestabes) which can be used to manage crime data, to determine the level of vulnerability, and can be accessed by the public to find out the map of the distribution of crime and . The public can easily report incidents/behaviors of criminal acts in the Surabaya area that are happening or have already happened by accessing this application page online without having to come to the POLRESTABES or POLSEK office.
