Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the relationship between self-confidence and emotional regulation with the tendency to behave aggressively in adolescents. The population in this study were all teenagers at SMA Negeri 1 Krian Sidoarjo. The sampling technique in this study was simple random sampling. Measuring tools used in this research are self-confidence scale, emotion regulation scale, and aggressive behavior scale. Testing the hypothesis in this study using multiple regression, showed the results of the correlation coefficient between self-confidence and emotional regulation with a tendency to behave aggressively by 126.643 with a significance of 0.000 (p = <0.01). This means that there is a significant relationship between selfconfidence and emotional regulation with the tendency to behave aggressively in adolescents. Then the results of the correlation coefficient between selfconfidence and the tendency to behave aggressively were 0.642 with a significance of 0.000 (p = <0.01). This means that there is a very significant positive relationship between self-confidence and the tendency to behave aggressively in young students of SMA Negeri 1 Krian Sidoarjo. As well as the results of the correlation coefficient between emotion regulation and aggressive behavior in adolescents is -0.667. This means that there is a negative relationship between emotion regulation and the tendency to behave aggressively in adolescents. Keywords: Self Confidence, Emotion Regulation, Aggressive Behavior
