Abstract

Tujuan yang ingin dicapai oleh peneliti dalam penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui perbedaan antara tipe kepribadian introvert dan ekstrovert dengan tingkat stres pada mahasiswa di Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif, populasi sampel adalah 217 mahasiswa dari berbagai fakultas di berbagai universitas di Surabaya. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah menggunakan metode sampling aksidental (accidental sampling). Item dalam skala tersebut dikelompokkan dalam pernyataan favourable dan unfavorable dengan menggunakan 4 alternatif jawaban dari skala likert. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data hipotesis yang berbunyi “ada perbedaan tipe kepribadian introvert dan ekstrovert dengan tingkat stres pada mahasiswa dinyatakan diterima. Diterimanya hipotesis ini karena terbukti terdapat perbedaan yang sangat signifikan antara perbedaan tipe kepribadian introvert dan ekstrovert dengan tingkat stres pada mahasiswa. Hasil uji chi-square menunjukkan bahwa tipe kepribadian introvert dan ekstrovert dengan tingkat stres memperoleh 0,000 yang artinya terdapat perbedaan yang sangat signifikan.
