Abstract

This research examines the form of freedom of expression made by account users through Twitter social media. Freedom of expression who wants excitement through the tweets of alter account users is a disclosure of their feelings, emotions and daily experiences that cannot be expressed to other people. Through the theory of selfdisclosure with five aspects in it, this study examines the phenomenon of using alter accounts which use the tweet feature as a medium to be able to freely express oneself which has been protected from other people. By using this type of research and phenomenological studies as its approach, this study digs deeper and describes the experiences of change account users with the aim of getting space for their freedom of expression. After being analyzed based on the five aspects of self-disclosure theory, it was found that the reason for using alter accounts through tweets on Twitter social media to be free of expression is that alter account users want to be able to freely upload anything, be as expressive as possible and don't want to get a bad response from people who know them in the world. real.
