Abstract

Mahasiswa pekerja sudah banyak ditemukan diberbagai negara maju maupun negara berkembang seperti di Indonesia. Banyak sekali kesulitan atau hambatan yang dihadapi mahasiswa pekerja. Memiliki keyakinan yang baik dalam segala hal dapat membuat seseorang lebih mudah dalam menghadapi kesulitan. Keyakinan pada diri individu yang meyakini bahwa hal-hal baik pasti terjadi disebut optimisme. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan antara Optimisme dengan Adversity Quotient pada mahasiswa pekerja di Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel mahasiswa pekerja. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik quota sampling. Penelitian ini melibatkan 107 responden. Hasil penelitian melalui uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment menunjukkan bahwa nilai koefesien korelasi (rxy) sebesar 0.760 dengan nilai signifikansi p= 0,000 (p<0,001) dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara optimisme dengan adversity quotient pada mahasiswa pekerja atau dengan kata lain jika optimisme mahasiswa pekerja tinggi, maka tingkat adversity quotient mahasiswa pekerja juga tinggi. Hal ini juga menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis penelitian ini diterima. Kata Kunci : Adversity quotient, optimisme, mahasiswa pekerja
