Abstract

Alcohol is a compound that has a –OH functional group which is bound to an aliphatic carbon chain. In alcohol molecules, the -OH function group binds covalently to carbon atoms. Alcohol that has one –OH group is called monoalcohol, whereas those with more than one –OH group are called polyalcohol. Alkanol is an alkane-derived monoalcohol. The general formula of alcohol is CnH2n + 1 OH or is written ROH, one H atom from the alkane is replaced by an OH group. The use of ethanol or alcohol as a beverage is well known, many alcoholic beverages that do not have permits, circulate in the community. So it is not surprising that acute or chronic poisoning due to ethanol often occurs. To overcome some of these problems, in this final project will be made Design of alcohol content measuring devices on ARDUINO-based beverages using MQ-3 gas sensor connected Mobile As an indicator this tool uses MQ3 gas sensors, LCD and Mobile. Alcohol content in the liquid is detected using an MQ-3 alcohol gas sensor. The output voltage of the MQ-3 sensor is then connected to the microcontroller for processing, by changing the analog to digital voltage on the ADC which can be displayed on the LCD and sent to the Mobile via the GSM / SIM module in the form of SMS. on this tool can also provide notification of the end result to the user. and this tool can detect alcohol content in a substance with the furthest distance of 2 cm from the sample.
