Abstract

Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic has an impact to several aspects in social life of islamic boarding school students. Changes in the living conditions of the Islamic boarding schools due to the COVID-19 pandemic must be follows with special efforts to keep students healthy both physically and mentally. The aims of this research is to examine the relationship between religiosity and resilience and also the role of social support as mediator variable in the relationship between religiosity and resilience. This research uses quantitative correlational methods. The participants of this study is 367 people who were selected based on simple random sampling. This research uses resilience scale from Wagnild & Young (1993) to measure resilience and Social Provisions Scale (SPS) from Cutrona & Russell (1987) to measure social support. The religiosity scale in this research was designed based on Islamic worldview and religious personality dimensions from Krauss, Hamzah, Juhari, & Hamid (2005). Data analysis of this research uses mediation analysis with Jeffrey's Amazing Statistics Program (JASP). The results of the research showed that (1) religiosity had a positive and significant relationship with resilience, (2) religiosity had a positive and significant relationship with social support, (3) social support had a positive and significant relationship with resilience, (4) social support had a role as mediator in the relationship between religiosity and resilience. The suggestion from this research is that the results of this research can be used as a basis for developing resilience of islamic boarding school students and for future researchers to examine the others psychological resources as an effort to develop resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic Keywords: Resilience, Religiosity, Social Support, Islamic Boarding School Students
