Abstract
The Village Consultative Body (BPD) has the function of supervising the performance of the Village Head in running the Village Government.This study discusses the analysis of the role the village Consultative Body in monitoring the performance of the Village head of Jrebeng, Dukun District, Gresik Regency. An interesting problem to study is how analyze the role og]f the Village Consultative Body ini Supervising the Performance of the head of the Jrebeng Village, Dukun District, Gresik Regency and what factors are the obstacles to the Village Consultative Body in Supervising the performance of the Village Head. The research method used in descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques used library research and field studies in the form of observations and interviews. The data analysis technique used qualitative analysis. The informants in this study consisted of the Cahirperson, Deputy Chairperson, Secretary and Members of the Village Consultative Body,Village Head, Apparatus, head of Dukun and Community Leaders. This study resulted in the role of supervision of the performance of the Jrebeng Village Head by the BPD corried in the form of monitoring and evaluation (monev) including, planning activities, implementing activities, and reporting activities, monitoring using the Village Head’s performance monitoring instrument in accordance with Regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 110 of 2016, supervision what the BPD has done is not yet optimal. The obstacles of the BPD in the village of Jrebeng supervising the performance of the Village Head include: (1). Human Resources for BPD members, from a recruitment system that only requires passing the Junior High School, the afsence of training and guidance from the Gresik Regional Government; (2). The allowances for BPD members are not in accordance with the workload and responsibilities of the BPD; (3). There is no regulation that regulates the follow-up of the results of supervision carried out by the Village Consultative Body. Keywords: BPD, Supervision, Monev, Village Head Performance
