Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between loneliness and Fear of Missing Out in early adults using the TikTok application. Fear of Missing Out is a condition when people who feel afraid of losing precious moments that have been done by others and are characterized by a desire to stay in touch with what others have done. The subjects in this study were early adults using the TikTok application with a minimum access time of 6-12 hours. The research data was obtained through the distribution of the scale in the form of a google form. The data analysis technique used is Product Moment Test with the help of IBM's SPSS version 25.00 for Windows program. The results of data analysis show that there is a positive relationship between loneliness and Fear of Missing Out in early adults using the TikTok application. This study shows that the higher the level of loneliness, the higher the Fear of Missing Out in early adults using the TikTok application. On the other hand, the higher the level of loneliness, the higher the Fear of Missing Out in early adults using the TikTok application. Kata kunci: Loneliness, Fear of Missing Out, FoMO, TikTok.
