Abstract

Electrical power distribution is an important component that functions as a medium for supplying electrical energy from the generator to the customer when operating, the distribution system often experiences disturbances, especially short circuit disturbances, so safety is needed. One of the safety distribution systems is a power breaker (PMT). The power breaker is a mechanical switching device, which can close, drain and break the load current under normal conditions and is able to break the load current under abnormal conditions. Damage to the PMT is very detrimental and hampers the operation of the electric power system, it is necessary to carry out periodic testing to ensure that the PMT is still feasible to operate. The tests carried out include testing for insulation resistance, testing for relationship resistance and contact uniformity. This research was conducted by comparing the test results obtained with the standard values for each test that has been listed in SK-DIR 0520. The results of the insulation resistance test obtained in each phase have a value above 70 MΩ. While the results of the contact resistance testing carried out in each phase obtained values below 50. In the simultaneous test, the results of the delta time calculation obtained both at open and close are below 10 ms, respectively. Based on the test results of insulation resistance, contact resistance and simultaneous contact, the PMT installed at the 70 KV Ende Substation is still in a safe condition and feasible to operate according to standards.
