Abstract

Energi listrik memiliki peranan penting dalam kehidupan sehari-hari manusia, dimulai keperluan rumah tangga sampai keperluan industri. Perkembangan industri di negara berkembang cukup pesat khususnya di Indonesia, baik secara komersial maupun industri kecil. Dengan demikian kebutuhan atau konsumsi energi listrik juga akan meningkat sering berkembangnya industri di Indonesia. Oleh sebab itu perhitungan efisiensi energi listrik juga perlu dikembangan dan ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi tenaga listrik di industri pakan ternak yang bertempat di PT JAPFA COMFEED INDONESIA TBK. Efisiensi tersebut dilakukan dengan penggunaan Variable Freuency Drive (VFD) sebagai pengendali untuk menggerakkan motor fan cooling tower. Penggunaan VFD di motor fan cooling tower ini bertujuan untuk meminimalisir lonjakan arus dan tegangan pada terminal motor serta tegangan pada bus. Dalam proses penerapannya, penggunaan VFD mampu menghasilkan konsumsi energi yang efisien. Di PT JAPFA COMFEED INDONESIA TBK sendiri cooling tower adalah alat yang berperan sangat penting sebagai meenara pendingin untuk mendinginkan berbagai macam mesin-mesin di produksi, oleh sebab itu penulis memilih untuk merancang sistem VFD di motor fan cooling tower yang bekerja selama 24 jam, untuk menekan biaya konsumsi energi listrik. (Electrical energy has an important role in human daily life, starting from household needs to industrial needs. Industrial development in developing countries is quite rapid, especially in Indonesia, both commercially and small industries. Thus the need or consumption of electrical energy will also increase, often the development of industry in Indonesia. Therefore, the calculation of electrical energy efficiency also needs to be developed and improved. This study aims to improve the efficiency of electric power in the animal feed industry located at PT JAPFA COMFEED INDONESIA TBK. This efficiency is carried out by using a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) as a controller to drive the cooling tower fan motor. The use of VFD in the fan cooling tower motor aims to minimize current and voltage spikes at the motor terminals and the voltage on the bus. In the implementation process, the use of VFD is able to produce efficient energy consumption. At PT JAPFA COMFEED INDONESIA TBK itself the cooling tower is a tool that plays a very important role as a cooling tower to cool various kinds of machines in production, therefore the author chooses to design a VFD system in the cooling tower fan motor that works for 24 hours, to suppress electricity consumption costs.
