Abstract
Bullying behavior is negative behavior that aims to hurt someone physically, verbally, or psychologically repeatedly. One of the causes of bullying behavior is the parenting pattern of parents who tend to be authoritarian by providing strict rules and lack warmth in the family, resulting in teenagers being bullied by their friends. Authoritarian parenting is considered to be a way of parenting that strongly supports bullying behavior. This study was conducted to know whether there is a relationship between authoritarian parenting and bullying behavior in adolescents at SMA Santo Yusup Karangpilang. The subjects in this study had the characteristics of adolescents aged 15-17 years, class X and XI, experienced authoritarian parenting, and had been bullied. The population in this study amounted to 165 students at the Santo Yusup High School in West Surabaya. The sampling technique in this study used purposive random sampling. The sample taken in this study was 116 students. The research design used is a quantitative study, using a survey based on measuring instruments in the form of a bullying scale and an authoritarian parenting scale. Data analysis in this study used Spearman Rho's non-parametric correlation technique with the help of IBM SPSS version 24.00, and got the result of 0.198 with p = 0.033 (p < 0.05). This means that the hypothesis in this study states that there is a positive relationship between authoritarian parenting and adolescent bullying behavior in Catholic High School at Santo Yusup High School Surabaya.
