Abstract
UMKM are micro, small and medium enterprises. Based on ("Law No. 20 of 2008 concerning Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises [JDIH BPK RI]" n.d.), micro-enterprises are productive businesses owned by individuals or individual business entities with a maximum total asset of 0 to 50 million rupiah and a total turnover of 0 up to 300 million rupiah. In growing the economic growth of the people of Surabaya City, UMKM have a great contribution, especially in developing countries. Having a positive impact and/or influence that can move the wheels of the nation's economy open new job opportunities and of course also be able to absorb labor. Online media comes to replace print media because many readers switch to using the internet as a tool for finding sources of information. The presence of online media as a platform to get news. Online media that is free, fast, and easy to access and can reach all regions is an advantage so that people are more interested in reading in online media. The rapid growth of online media makes print and electronic media increasingly difficult to survive. The formulation of the problem in this study is 1) Does the use of online media affect the income turnover of UMKM (case study of UMKM by PKK women in the East Medokan Asri Region, Surabaya City in 2021)? The object of this research is the UMKM of the PKK of the East Medokan Asri Region, Surabaya City. The type of research used is field research (Field Research). Data collection techniques using the questionnaire method. The factors tested in this study were income turnover before using online media and after using online media. The hypothesis test is the paired sample t test, with a significant level of 5%. The results of this study prove that the use of online media has a positive and significant effect on income turnover in UMKM for PKK women in the Medokan Asri Timur area of Surabaya City. The results of hypothesis testing using the paired sample t test show that there are differences in income turnover when not using online media and after using online media.
