Abstract

Sexual harassment tendencies are all forms of unwanted sexual behavior by those receiving such treatment, and sexual harassment can occur anywhere and anytime. One of the factors causing the tendency of sexual harassment in teenagers is the intensity of using social media for a long time, so that it can cause a teenager to be often exposed to adult content or pornography that is widely circulated on social media. This study aims to determine the relationship between the intensity of the use of social media with the tendency of sexual harassment in teenagers. In addition, this study also aims to prevent and anticipate the occurrence of sexual harassment that has recently occurred, namely by limiting the intensity of using social media pornographic content among teenagers. The research design used by the researcher is a quantitative study with the participants involved are male school teenagers with an age range of 12-17 years in Gubeng District Surabaya City who are quite intense in using social media pornographic content as many as 58 respondents. Data analysis in this study used Spearman’s Rho correlation with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 25 and obtained a correlation score is 0.809 with the significance of p=0.000. This means that there is a positive correlation or relationship between the intensity variable of using social media and the tendency of sexual harassment. The higher the intensity of the use of social media owned by adolescents, it will be followed by a high tendency of sexual harassment by adolescents. Likewise vice versa.
