Abstract

This study aims to determine the effecttiveness of group counseling in decreasing depression in adolescent victims of sexual violence that have introvert personality type in Surabaya. The hypothesis tested was a decrease in the level of depression of juvenile victims of sexual assault after undergoing counseling groups and determine the relationship introverted personality types. The subject of tjis research consisted of 5(five) people introverted adolescent who have experienced sexual violence and has received psycho-social assistance of Hotline Surabaya Foundation and the Embun Surabaya Foundation. The study design used is one group pretest-posttest design. The analytical method used is the nonparametric data wilxocon and using Spearman correlation test. The results of the analysis of the first hypothesis obtained showed a mean value = 142.2 pre-test and post-test mean = 110, while p = 0.043>0.05, which means that the group counseling can reduce depression in adolescents introverted victims of sexual violence that can be seen a decrease resulting from the depressed subject after intervention by group counseling. An analysis of the second hypothesis showed price correlation coefficient of 0.410 with a significance of 0.493<0.05 proves that there is no relationship between the introverted personality types to depressions in young victims of sexual violence
