Abstract

The study was based on the meaning of cartoons clekit. Figure karttun as a means of delivering social criticism often we encounter in this medium, in this era of media today is usually a case that is poured into a cartoon that news is becoming increasingly attractive.Formulation of the problem of this research is the meaning and the message is contained in cartoons clekit Jawa Pos daily newspaper edition of 19 November 2016.Theory Sanders Peirce argues that the mark is formed through the triangular relationship, the sign associated with the object to be analyzed with icons, indices, and symbols in semiotics Charles Sanders Pierce.The method used is semiotic analysis are included in the descriptive qualitative research. Here qualitative method using sanders Peirce's theory, by using the sign is an icon, an index, and symbol.The results of this study based on the analysis of data obtained from the meaning of cartoons clekit, which produces meanings and messages contained in the daily newspaper cartoon Java clekit post 19 November 2016 edition.
