Abstract
Being chosen to be a BEM board is fun and something to be proud of, but not everyone feels that way. Some individuals actually feel worried and unsure of their own abilities. This event is known as the impostor phenomenon. The impostor phenomenon can occur due to an error in self-assessment or commonly referred to as self-concept. The self-concept that occurs in the academic field is called the academic self-concept. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between academic self-concept and the impostor phenomenon in the BEM member for the 2022 period. This study involved 167 BEM member at the University of 17 August 1945, Surabaya. This research is a quantitative research with a correlational form. The participants used in this study were all subjects in the population, namely 167 BEM member. The results of the research through the Spearman's Rho correlation test obtained a value of -0.185 with p = 0.01 (p <0.05) so it can be concluded that there is a significant negative correlation between the academic self- concept variable and the impostor phenomenon variable. The higher the academic self-concept of BEM member, the lower the Impostor phenomenon owned by BEM member and conversely, the lower the academic self-concept of BEM member, the higher the academic self-concept of BEM member. Judging from these results, the hypothesis which states that there is a negative relationship between academic self- concept and the impostor phenomenon in BEM management students is accepted.
