Abstract
The increasing need for energy along with current technological developments, has prompted the Indonesian government to seek new and renewable energy sources. Indonesia is a country that has abundant energy resources, one of which is a source of solar energy. This study aims to determine the manufacturing process and the workings of a solar powered lawn mower. The design and manufacture of this tool was carried out at the Lasery Workshop Surabaya. The control system used uses a remote control where the transmitter is the sender of the signal and the receiver is the receiver of the signal. The test results show that the highest voltage generated by the 80 wp policyristalline solar panel through SCC at 13.00 with a light intensity of 81520 lux produces a voltage of 14.4 VDC and is able to rotate the motor up to 4325 Rpm. In a 120 wp monocyristalline solar panel with the highest light intensity at 12.00 at 70830 lux, it can produce a voltage of 14 VDC and the motor rotation obtained is up to 4021 Rpm. For the maximum operating distance of the lawn mower is 7 meters. This lawn mower is used on flat ground. Keywords: Solar Cell, Receiver, Transmitter, Lawn Mower.
