Abstract

CV. Cipta Mandiri Success is a manufacturing company engaged in printing services for calendars, pamphlets, brochures, fliers, posters, food product packaging, and many others. In producing pamphlets, this company often encounters obstacles in the form of many defective products in the form of sizes that match the standard, the presence of ink blotches, ink blur, and faded ink. With these problems, in this research activity, an analysis of the causes of defective products will be carried out and provide recommendations for improvement proposals to the company to overcome the problems that occur. The analysis was carried out using quality control tools, namely the ' seven tools of quality ' consisting of check sheets, histograms,flowcharts, scatter diagrams, control charts , Pareto diagrams, and fishbone diagrams . After using the seven tools of quality , the researcher found that the highest number of defects was in the size of the product that did not match, and after testing the distribution of the data it was found that every time the number of production increases, the number of defective products will also increase. The causes of these defects also vary, ranging from human factors, machines, materials, methods, and the work environment. Thus the recommendation that can be given is to carry out regular machine maintenance, if there are components or parts of the machine that need to be replaced, the replacement of these components must be carried out immediately. Furthermore, providing direction and training to workers regarding machines, product production methods, and the characteristics of the raw materials used. And pay attention to the placement of rawmaterials ormaterials in a good place, then pay attention to the humidity of the work environment because the material used is quite sensitive to water.
