Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan memberikan bagaimana gambaran manajemenkesan yang dilakukan Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika kota Surabaya pada platform Instagram Bangga Surabaya dalam membentuk citra sebagai media informasi. Teori yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah teori manajemen kesan menggunakan lima tipologi menurut Edward Jones. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang diperoleh bersumber padawawancara, observasi, dan pengumpulan data foto berupa dokumen yang dipublikasikan. Objek dari penelitian ini yaitu Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika bagian Informasi dan Komunikasi Publik serta Statistik Kota Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggambarkan bagaimana manajemen kesan dalam platform instagram bangga surabaya yang dilakukan oleh Dinkominfo Kota Surabaya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan upaya manajemen kesan Dinkominfo Surabaya dalam platform instagram bangga surabaya dalam membentuk citra sebagai media informasi ditemukannya bahwa dengan menyelenggarakan festival dan membantupara UMKM yakni tipologi ingratiation , self promotion dengan menunjukkan prestasi yang diraih dan menunjukkan inovasi-inovasi, exemplification ditunjukan dengan penyebaran informasi mengenai penyakit PMK , dan intimidation ditujukan dengan penyampaianinformasi ketanggapan Pemkot Surabaya menangani kecelakaan di Kenpark Surabaya dalam membentuk citra. (This study aims to provide an overview of the impression management carried out by the Surabaya City Communication and Information Office on the Instagram Bangga Surabaya platform in forming an image as a medium of information. The theory used in this research is impression management theory using five typologies according to Edward Jones. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data obtained were sourced from interviews, observations, and photo data collection in the form of published documents. The object of this research is the Department of Communication and Informatics section of Information and Public Communication and Statistics of the City of Surabaya. This study describes how the impression management in the Bangga surabaya Instagram platform is carried out by the Dinkominfo of the City of Surabaya. The results of this study show that the impression management efforts of the Dinkominfo Surabaya on the Instagram platform Bangga Surabaya in forming an image as a medium of information have found that by organizing festivals and helping UMKM namely ingratiation typology, self promotion by showing achievements and showing innovations, exemplification is shown by disseminating information about PMK disease, and intimidation is aimed at conveying information on the response of the Surabaya City Government in handling accidents at Kenpark Surabaya in forming an image.
