Abstract
Contradictions will continue to exist as the relationship progresses. Communication is the key to the problem-solving process. Family harmony is difficult to achieve if it does not meet good interpersonal relationships and communication. In addition, the management of dialectics or problems that arise needs to use communication in solving them. The method used is qualitative, while the theory used is relational dialectics. The purpose of the research is to find out the dialectic of the existing problems, then how to communicate when solving issues that arise to build harmonious relationships. The results of the study showed that deaf and speech-impaired couples could communicate effectively using effective communication elements, namely openness, mutual support, empathy, positive attitude, and equality. Another finding is the existence of a self-concept that affects the interpersonal communication process. This resulted in each being able to respect and understand each other to minimize problems. In the problem-solving process that was dissected with rational dialectics, the informants confirmed that communication was a good way to solve problems. The final result of the research is that the deaf and mute couple can communicate effectively in the process of resolving contradictions or issues that arise to lead to a harmonious family.
