Abstract
Aluminum has good mechanical properties such as good castability, lightweight, and corrosion resistance, so it is widely used for automotive components such as motor pistons. One of the materials used to make these components is AlSi. Over time, the components will fail. Aluminum in its pure form has low strength and is not good enough to be used for applications that require deformation and fracture resistance, therefore it is necessary to add other elements to increase its strength. Aluminum in the form of an alloy which is often known as aluminum alloy is a type of aluminum that is used quite a lot today. All types of aluminum alloys contain two or more chemical elements that can affect the mechanical properties of the alloy. The casting temperature variables used are 800℃, 900℃ and 1000℃ with a holding timeof 5 minutes. This test shows that the higher the heating temperature increases the mechanical properties and changes the microstructure, and the data obtained for the Brinell B test variable is 800℃ with a hardness value at OLI 20 SAE the hardness value is 48.7 HRb, 900℃ at room temperature 1000℃ the hardness value is 50 ,8 HRb, 280℃ at Water Ph 8 900℃ the hardness valueis 46,98HRb.
