Abstract

UD. Amerta was a company engaged in the furniture industry. The materials they used are polished rattan rods in sizes between 22-24 or 26-28 they also use rattan core rods in sizes 8, 10, and 14 which can produce several products such as papason, rattan basket, stool cushion, rattan shelf, and rattan wall mirror. This company was ordering raw materials based on the estimated amount of the previous production and didn't have a certain method or precise calculation so that the determination of the amount of each type of raw material ordered is irregular. Consumer demand for furniture products that are erratic every period will affect the need for raw materials used during production so that there are shortages and excess raw materials in use. From the background of the problem, the company needs a plan for the needs of each type of raw material needed during a certain period so that the production process can run smoothly can reduce inventory costs to a minimum. Planning the needs of each type of raw material is carried out using the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) method with lot sizing Lot For Lot, Period Order Quantity, and Fixed Period Requirement. The results of data processing obtained a message plan for each period, the total need for each type of raw material and resulted in the minimum inventory cost of each lot sizing of Papason products of Rp.46,863,170 with 2 ordering periods, rattan basket products of Rp.20,411,000 with 3 ordering periods, stool cushion products for Rp17,684,400 with 3 and 4 order periods, rattan shelf products for Rp29,269,925 with 2 ordering periods and rattan wall mirrors for Rp13,957,200 with 3 order periods.
