Abstract
Powder metallurgy is one of the production techniques using powder as a starting material before the formation process. This study aims to determine the effect of pressure and temperature variations on the sinter density and hardness of Al-Ti alloys. At the compaction pressure variations of 5000, 5500, 6000, 6500, 7000 Psi with a press holding time of 10 minutes. At sintering temperatures of 450 and 500 °C with a sintering time of 90 minutes. The specimen testing process will include a density test, a microstructure test using an Optical Microscope and a hardness test using a Rockwell B (HRB) hardness tester. From the results of testing the effect of variations in pressure and sintering temperature on the density and hardness of 10% Al-Ti alloy, the highest density value is 3.039 g/cm3 at a pressure of 7000 psi with a sintering temperature of 500 °C and the lowest density value is 2.938 g/cm3 at a pressure of 6500 psi with a sintering temperature of 450 °C. The highest hardness value is 44.8 HRB at a pressure of 7000 psi with a sintering temperature of 450 °C and the lowest value is 42.8 HRB at a pressure with a sintering temperature of 450 °C.
