Abstract
Nowadays, Indonesia's energy needs for various sectors are high. Of the various kinds of energy that exist in the world today, the use of fossil-based energy in Indonesia is very high. Seeing the depletion of fossil energy conditions, an alternative energy is needed. The only alternative energy is air power generation. Research on the analysis of the effect of the number of blades and turbine head on the performance of the Kaplan turbine for micro-hydro power generation. The purpose of this study was to analyze the efficiency obtained in each experimental variable. This study uses a random sampling research method by determining three kinds of turbine variations, namely as many as 4 blades, 6 blades, 7 blades and also uses 3 kinds of head variations, respectively 13 cm, 32 cm, 36 cm. The process of this research by installing each turbine and also adjusting the height of the head according to the research variables that have been set. The results of this study on the highest turbine efficiency obtained at the variable head 0.36 and the number of blades as many as 7 with a value of 14.44%. Then the highest generator efficiency at the variable head is 0.36 and the number of blades is 7 with a value of 3.52%. The conclusion obtained is that the more the number of blades and the higher the efficiency of the turbine and generator, the higher the efficiency.
