Abstract

The city of Mojokerto, which is known as an industrial city, is a very dense transportation link between cities. Therefore, during peak hours, namely the hours of leaving and returning from work, the traffic on the highway is very congested by employees and factory workers. With the increasing activity of using the highway, accidents can potentially occur. Traffic accidents are one of the biggest causes of death in Indonesia. There are several factors that cause the increase in the accident rate, namely the condition of the driver's behavior, the environment, the vehicle and the road. From the existing background, the authors conducted research on the Analysis of the Causes of Traffic Accidents in the City of Mojokerto (Case Study : Jalan Empunala). This research uses descriptive method in analyzing. The data needed in this study are primary data, namely data obtained from the field directly, namely documentation, and secondary data, namely traffic accident data on the Mepunala road in 2018 - 2020, traffic volume data. The results obtained in this study show that the number of accidents that occurred during 2018 - 2020 were 28, 18, 16 with the driver factor being spread out as many as 41 accidents or 66% then the vehicle factor as many as 12 accidents or 19%, then the road factor as many as 7 accidents or 11 % and the last environmental factor is 2 accidents or 3%.
