Abstract

The Covid-19 disaster that has hit since 2019 has caused the world economy to decline drastically. Many employees were laid off from the company where they worked to reduce expenses and even some companies closed their outlet branches in various places due to a decrease in income and even losses. As a result, many of the people become unemployed. Indonesia was also affected. People who can't continue to wait until the crovid disaster improves or end up just being silent, because this is finally a lot of emerging new Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM), Therefore researchers decided to examine how the influence of financial planning on the performance of UMKM? , how is the effect of financial records on the performance of UMKM?, How does the separation of personal and business finances affect the performance of UMKM?. After knowing the formulation of this problem, the research objectives are to analyze and determine the effect of financial planning on the performance of UMKM, analyze and determine the effect of financial records on the performance of UMKM, analyze and determine the effect of the separation of personal & business finances on the performance of UMKM. This study uses a sample of UMKM in Surabaya. In this study, the sampling technique used a non-probability sample, because the researcher did not get the details of the respondent's identity needed in making the sampling frame. Nonprobability method using purposive sampling technique. Purposive sampling is a sampling technique based on special criteria, namely business actors in Surabaya. The analysis used is multiple linear regression where this analysis is used to analyze the magnitude of the relationship and the effect of 3 independent variables on the dependent variable. The population used in this study is UMKM in Surabaya and the sample used is 50 SMEs in Surabaya. Sampling was done by filling out a questionnaire using the linkert scale. The testing tool used in this study is SPSS version 22. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the respondent's identity is dominated by women 84%, age 25-35 years 44%, type of culinary business 42%, length of business 3 years 46%. And the statistical test results state that the Financial Planning variable (X1), the Financial Recording variable (X2), the Personal Finance & Business Finance Separation variable (X3), have sig results of 0.021 each; 0.19; 0.15 where the results are <0.05 Financial planning has an influence on the performance of UMKM in Surabaya, H2: Financial records have an influence on the performance of UMKM in Surabaya, H3: The separation of personal finances & business finances has an influence on the performance of UMKM in Surabaya is accepted. Most of the respondents related to this study have implemented financial management with financial planning indicators that greatly affect cost savings which can increase operating profit which is part of increasing MSME performance. MSME actors have implemented Financial Management with indicators of financial planning, financial records, and the separation of personal finances & business finances which have a significant influence on improving the performance of MSMEs. It can be concluded from this study that the influence of financial management is quite influential on the performance of MSMEs by 37% and the remaining 63% is influenced by other variables outside the study. For some MSME actors who have not started recording transactions that occur in their business, they are expected to record and prepare detailed and clear reports and also collect evidence of expenditures and record income, so that it can be known with certainty whether the business being carried out has increased or even decreased/loss.
