Abstract
The Penataran Museum or formerly known as the Blitar Museum is a museum located in the hall of Blitar Regency. Unlike most museums in general, the Blitar Museum is only a place for storing Archaeological Objects which serves to accommodate archaeological objects that were found by the regent of Blitar at that time, Mr. Warso Kusumo. Then to give access to the public, these findings were legally transferred to the museum in the area of the Penataran Temple complex and changed its name to the Penataran Museum. The aim is to visualize promotional media that can attract students and tourists to make the Penataran Museum a historical tourist destination and a means of learning about history. The basic literature study is based on architectural data guidelines and journals, for various typologies, the circulation of the major kingdoms in East Java, including the Mataram Kingdom, Majapahit Kingdom, Kadiri Kingdom and so on. Site surveys are also used to obtain primary and secondary data based on case studies and the background of the problems discussed. The analysis uses case studies, existing data that has been collected, and is supported by comparative studies to obtain a basic and architectural concept that is in accordance with the function of the building. Determination of the character of the object, the character of the location, the character of the actor, and the achievement of the basic concept of the building have been arranged based on the function of the building. The concept of the building is based on metaphorical architecture with the concept of figurative language used to explain things through parables and comparisons according to the study of the Majapahit Kingdom building to support the building's function as a tourist place that stores many historical objects of the kingdoms of East Java.
