Abstract

Composite material is one of the materials that has superior properties compared to the previous material. To get a composite material, a stir casting process is carried out. This process is mixing by adding a polymer with a reinforcing element. This design uses a method consisting of tool preparation, tool design and how to make a stir casting tool designed using a crucible with a capacity of 2 kg. The heating element used as a power source for melting can be set at temperatures ranging from 120°C to 300°C. The medium used as a liquid mixture is a stiir road, the source of movement comes from an electric motor with a minimum rotation of 50 RPM to 200 RPM. In this study, the tool provides composite specimens with the least pores obtained at a temperature of 180°C and clarified with the help of a digital microscope.
