Abstract

Based on the results of the journal RendySetio P., Tjuk Oerbandono,Purnami, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Brawijaya Malang, this study was conducted to determine the effect of variations in welding speed and electrode type on the tensile strength of SMAW welding ST 60 steel. different ones are E 6013 and E 7016. Variations in welding speed used are 200 mm / min, 250 mm / min and 300 mm / min. The type of welding used is SMAW with 100 A current and uses V 60o. The results of this journal obtained the price of tensile strength from welding with E 7016 electrodes greater than the results of welding E 6013. The highest tensile strength value is in welding with E 7016 electrode with a welding speed of 300 mm / min ie 632 MPa and the smallest tensile strength value in welding with E 6013 electrodes with a welding speed of 200 mm / min which is 376 MPa. Whereas I will analyze the variation of current and type of electrode against the tensile strength of the results of commercial steel SMAW welding.
