Abstract
Kecenderungan Body Dysmorphic Disorder yaitu perasaan tidak puas terhadap penampilan fisik yang dimiliki oleh diri sendiri. Salah satu faktor penyebab adanya kecenderungan Body Dysmorphic Disorder yaitu Self Esteem. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan antara Self Esteem dengan kecenderungan Body Dysmorpic Dysorder pada mahasiswa pengguna media sosial di lingkup Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya. Desain penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kuantitatif dengan partisipan sebanyak 100 orang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian kepada 100 responden, dengan menggunakan analisis uji korelasi Pearson dengan bantuan program Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) versi 20.0 for windows diperoleh nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar rxy = -0.600 dengan signifikansi sebesar p = 0.000 yang artinya terdapat hubungan negative yang signifikan antara Self Esteem dengan kecenderungan Body Dysmorphic Disorder. Hubungan negative dapat diartikan semakin tinggi Self Esteem yang dimiliki oleh mahasiswa pengguna media sosial di Fakultas Psikologi Angkatan 2020 Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya maka semakin rendah kecenderungan Body Dysmorphic Disorder, demikian pula sebaliknya.
