Abstract

Pada awalnya, becak motor (bentor) merupakan angkutan pribadi, kemudian berkembang menjadi angkutan umum yang sudah lama beroperasi di berbagai kabupaten/kota di Indonesia. Sayangnya, kehadiran bentor tersebut tidak diikuti dengan keberadaan peraturan hukum di setiap daerah guna mengakomodir keberadaan bentor di daerah tersebut. Keberadaan Becak Motor di kota"besar tidak hanya memberikan dampak positif bagi para pengguna jasa, akan tetapi dapat juga menimbulkan berbagai dampak negatif, baik dari sisi keselamatan dan kepentingan penumpang maupun dari tertibnya peraturan perundang-undangan yang berlaku khususnya yang mengatur tentang legalitas kendaraan becak motor sebagai angkutan umum berdasarkan Undang-Undang Nomor Nomor 22 Tahun 2009 tentang Lalu Lintas dan Angkutan Jalan. Tulisan ini akan membahas tentang apakah keberadaan becak motor sebagai salah satu sarana transportasi di Indonesia telah sesuai dengan peraturan perundang-undangan yang berlaku, dan tulisan ini juga membahas tentang Bagaimanakah dampak yang di timbulkan akibat dioperasikannya becak motor di jalan raya.
