Abstract

Metal casting UKM has applied strategies make to order. Order will done gradually as much as output this UKM during a periode. It make a backlog and lead time of completion a order is uncertainty. Products which has fixed demand can be produced without waiting for requests to come up to request assistance more quickly and the resources needed can be optimized for use. This means that it can be done with a strategy make to stock. The results of this study are the optimal capacity of Metal Casting UKM as much as 232,73 hours to comply all fixed demand using the make to stock strategy, but the resources needed when using the make to order strategy as much as 403,54 hours. The deferent of the resources as much as 19,27 hours can be used to complate the other orders, so production with the make to stock strategy can more eficien.
