Abstract

3 phase induction motor is an electrical equipment that is needed in the industrial world that serves to support all kinds of production activities, to reduce the very high start current can use starting method with a star delta system or with a soft starter system using auto transformer, it is known that the application star delta switch system and soft starter system use auto transformer on 3 phase induction motor with 1.5 kW power or 2 HP, causing the highest starting current on the motor when the soft starter circuit is 380 V, which is as much as 3.7 Amperes. This is because when the soft starter motor circuit increases in power, while the star-delta motor breakdown decreases the power caused by a decrease in voltage. As for the highest starting torque produced by the motor is when the soft starter circuit with a voltage of 380V is equal to 8.781 nm. This is because the power received by the motor is also greater, with an average of 1.9 kW. While the lowest starting torque occurs when the motor is connected to the delta circuit at 220V voltage which is equal to 3.855 nm. This is due to a decrease in voltage to 220V so that the power produced by the motor also decreases so that the power produced also decreases
