Abstract

The characteristics of a material are known through heat tensile testing by looking at the effect of temperature and the rate of withdrawal on the flow of Al 2xxx composite material which is closely related to plastic deformation. 1 mm / second has the highest flow voltage of 48.45 Kgf / mm2 compared to other temperatures. After testing with a higher temperature of 400 C with a withdrawal rate of 1 mm / sec the flow stress number decreases by 0.19% to 48.3 Kgf / mm2. At a test temperature of 450 o C with a withdrawal rate of 1 mm / sec the flow stress rate decreased 5.6% to 45.72 Kgf / mm2 from the tensile strength figure at 350 o C. The decrease in flow stress is caused by the enlargement of grain size at higher temperatures because of softening when the material is warmed up, at 350 o C with a withdrawal rate of 0.01 mm / sec. The grain size value is 70.3 µm. Then grew by 0.17% to 82.36 µm at a temperature of 400 C with the same withdrawal rate (0.01 mm / sec). Likewise, at a temperature of 450 o C it also enlarges to 109.63 µm. The results of this test of heat tensile test concluded that the higher the temperature given during testing, the lower the value of the flow stress. o o
