Abstract

This study is entitled Sara Dillon’s Paraphilia Addiction in Christina Lauren’s Beautiful Stranger. The problem statements are what kinds and the causes of Sara Dillon’s paraphilia in Christina Lauren’s Beautiful Stranger. This study refers to Theory of Sexuality by Sigmund Freud from Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality and theory of paraphilia by John W. Santrock from Human Adjustment. The writer applies intrinsic approach by using characterization theory and extrinsic approach by using psychological approach. The research method used in this thesis is a qualitative descriptive analysis to analyze the kinds and the causes of Sara Dillon’s paraphilia. The analysis shows that Sara Dillon is addicted to paraphilia, especially of exhibitionism and fetishism. Exhibitionism on Sara Dillon manisfests in the forms of having sex in public places and capture them as photographs for stranger. Furthermore, fetishism on Sara Dillon are jaws, ears and neck or in the non-genital objects. The causes of Sara Dillon’s paraphilia are traumatic and frustration.
