Abstract

Changes and shifts in values in society, especially in urban areas, have an impact on the emergence of social psychological phenomena, one of which is the loss of concern for helping others. In some cases, for example bullying, the tendency of a bystander to help victims of bullying is actually considered risky, as a result the bystander will be careful in determining his attitude. One of the factors that can encourage bystanders to provide assistance to victims of bullying is empathy for victims. The purpose of this study is to determine the relation behavior on helping behavior through empathy. The population in this study were students on 17th August 1945 junior high school Surabaya. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with purposive sampling method.
