Abstract

The number of Korean idols that appeared made many teenagers compete to idolize Korean idols who they thought were very beautiful or handsome. That is called fanaticism. fanaticism is a form of love that is believed to have made a big contribution to life. Lots of teenagers who have high fanaticism engage in verbal aggression on social media, which is because adolescents still cannot control their emotional level so that it makes them easy to get carried away by the emotions of other people's words and cannot sort out which information is right and what is wrong. Based on this, the researcher conducted research on whether there was a relationship between fanaticism and verbal aggression in adolescents. The data collection technique used simple random sampling. In this study, the subjects studied were adolescents. The sample of this study was determined as many as 134 teenagers consisting of 78 young men and 56 young women Based on the results of data analysis using the product moment correlation technique, the results obtained by the correlation coefficient = - 0.372 with a significant level of 0.000 (P ≥ 0.01), it is stated that there is a negative relationship between fanaticism and verbal aggression in adolescents, the higher the sense of fanaticism, the lower Verbal aggression in adolescents and vice versa, the lower the fanaticism, the higher the verbal aggression in adolescents Keywords: Fanaticism, Verbal Aggression
