Abstract

Climate change in Indonesia has had a number of serious impacts, such as changes in rainfall patterns, rising temperatures, floods and drought. Drought in Indonesia occurs almost every year and increases sharply in El Nino conditions, causing forest fires and causing haze. Central Kalimantan Province as one of the peatlands in Indonesia with an administrative area of 154,400 km². The Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) method is a method developed by McKee in 1993. Its purpose is to identify and monitor drought. The dryness index value using the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) method is classified into the following values: Very Very Wet, Very Wet, Enough Wet, Nearly Normal, Quite Dry, Very Dry, Very Very Dry. To find out drought mapping using the Geographic Information System with the GQIS program. The location of the distribution of drought in Central Kalimantan in 2021– 2025, based on drought analysis using the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) in almost all districts and cities in Central Kalimantan in July, August September and October. The most extensive drought estimates in 2025 in September are in the districts of: East Barito, North Barito, Gunung Mas, Kapuas, West Waringin City, Murung Raya, Palangkaraya, Pulang Pisau and Seruyan.
