Abstract

Banyuates Subdistrict, Sampang Regency is an area that has a potential natural area for development in agriculture, especially food crops (rice). Nipah Irrigation Area as a whole has an agricultural area of 1150 ha. The water source of nipah irrigation area comes from nipah river. Water discharge to irrigate rice fields is reduced due to logging and the use of clean water for the needs of the surrounding population. In the development efforts on the planting area of nipah irrigation needs to be carried out research aimed at knowing the availability of water and irrigation water needs so that it can be known the balance of water, as well as the level of optimization of nipah irrigation areas. This study used secondary data obtained through related agencies in the form of topographic data, monthly rainfall data, monthly rain day data, climatology data (air temperature, solar irradiation, air humidity, and wind speed). Primary data obtained from the collection of data in the field in the form of river cross-section dimensions and the speed of flow upstream bendung. The analysis carried out is evapotranspiration analysis with FAO Modification Penmann method, water availability analysis by Mock method, irrigation water needs analysis, water balance analysis, and irrigation area optimization analysis nipah. The amount of water needed for irrigation is 1,200 liters/second/ha. Water discharge is able to irrigate the land in accordance with the needs of existing rice fields for the month of December to November. How to optimize water discharge with existing Irrigation Network is by rotation at the parent, secondary or tertiary level by looking at the K pasten factor
