Abstract
The city of Surabaya, through the Department of Public Works of Public Works and Pematusan, has built a MERR road connecting Surabaya with Sidoarjo Regency. The MERR road construction is expected to divert the flow of canal traffic from the city center. To maintain the sustainable use of road infrastructure in accordance with the development plan, it is necessary to manage operations and maintenance that must be planned regularly for the road, so that it is able to function optimally to facilitate the flow of transportation of people, goods and services. From this fact, it is necessary to conduct research to find out more favorable road pavement by comparing the existing flexible pavement with rigid pavement with a planned age of 20 years for MERR (Segment 1) Surabaya. The research objective is to obtain the cost of rigid road pavement so that it can be a comparison of existing flexible road pavement for MERR (Segment 1) Surabaya roads and obtain the most favorable type of road construction for the 20-year plan The results of the comparative study of the weight of the flexible pavement construction costs with the weight of the rigid pavement costs on the MERR (Segment 1) Surabaya, are 1: 1.23. Shows that the weight of the rigid pavement construction costs is greater than the weight of the flexible pavement construction costs, And based on the calculation of the total cost of development and maintenance of the pavement MERR (Segment 1) Surabaya, the most profitable type of road construction for the planned 20-year life with Future Value Methods is rigid pavement with savings of 45.23% compared to flexible pavement.
