Abstract

Projects generally have a deadline, meaning that the project must be completed before or at the specified time. For the sake of the smooth running of the project from the beginning to the end of the project, good management is needed in terms of time and cost. The CPM and PERT methods are the right methods used in planning the time and cost of completing the Pegaf City – Mansel District boundary road improvement project, in West Papua Province carried out by an implementing contractor, PT. EXPRA. The purpose of this study is to analyze the optimal time and costs of the project. The design of a network of appropriate work relationships is considered capable of optimizing the project time and costs by using the CPM and PERT methods. The critical path on the project shows that activities on the project need attention so as not to hamper other project activities. Analysis results using the CPM method indicate that the project was completed for 115 days, and accelerated 15 working days on some work with the minimum slope in every work. After accelerating, it was found that the completion time of 100 days was 15 % more efficient and the cost after the acceleration was Rp. 18,498,614,230, of which costs are more efficient at 3,19 % after accelerating. From the results of the analysis of the time and cost of the Pegaf City – Mansel District boundary road improvement project, obtained that the time and cost by using the method was considered more efficient than the time and cost that had beenset, with the opportunity to complete the project 32,28 %.
