Abstract
Cold Paving Hot Mix Asbuton (CPHMA) is a pavement mixture that uses Asbuton as a binder. One waste material with the potential to be utilized as a filler is sugarcane bagasse ash. This study aimed to analyze the effect of sugarcane bagasse ash as a filler on the Marshall characteristics of CPHMA mixtures, determine the Optimum Asphalt Content, and evaluate its compliance with the 2018 General Specifications for Highways (Bina Marga), Revision 2. The research was conducted experimentally in the laboratory using the Marshall method. The OAC was determined using asphalt content variations of 6%, 6.5%, 7%, 7.5%, and 8%. After obtaining the OAC, sugarcane bagasse ash filler was applied at variations of 0%, 1.5%, 2%, and 2.5%. The analyzed parameters included stability, flow, Void in Mix (VIM), Void in Mineral Aggregate (VMA), Void Filled with Bitumen (VFB), and residual stability. The results showed that sugarcane bagasse ash met the requirements as a filler, with 75.05% passing the No. 200 sieve and a specific gravity of 2.96. The OAC was determined to be 7.5%, resulting in a stability value of 510 kg, flow of 4.9 mm, VIM of 8.85%, VMA of 24.49%, VFB of 63.86%, and residual stability of 128 kg. The highest stability value was obtained at a filler content of 2%, reaching 583 kg, with a flow value of 4.4 mm, VIM of 5.65%, VMA of 22.52%, VFB of 74.94%, and residual stability of 115 kg. Overall, the Marshall parameters satisfied the requirements of the 2018 General Specifications for Bina Marga, Revision 2.
