Abstract

Revenge porn is the dissemination of pornographic content without consent with the intent to humiliate the victim, which can lead to psychological impacts such as anxiety. Anxiety is characterized by intense feelings of fear, worry, and discomfort but can be minimized with good family function and high levels of resilience. This study aims to examine the relationship between family function and resilience with anxiety in revenge porn victims. Using a quantitative approach, this study involved 90 respondents aged 16–29 years residing in East Java. The sampling technique was conducted using purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The instruments used included the Anxiety Scale (Nevid, 2005), the Family Function Scale (Epstein, 1978), and the Resilience Scale (Connor & Davidson, 2003). Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression, which showed an F-value of -31.348 with a significance of p = 0.000 (p < 0.01), indicating a significant relationship between family function and resilience with anxiety, contributing 41.9% (R² = 0.419). Further analysis revealed that family function had a negative relationship with anxiety (t = -0.365, p = 0.001), and resilience also had a negative relationship with anxiety (t = -0.354, p = 0.001). These findings indicate that the better the family function and the higher the resilience, the lower the anxiety levels in revenge porn victims.
