Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between gratitude and self control with self-acceptance of women who experience domestic violence. Gratitude is a person's recognition of the existence of other parties or sources that contribute to the blessings received. Self-control is an individual's ability to guide, control, regulate, suppress negative behavior and impulses that are within the individual. Self-acceptance is a positive attitude towards oneself, able and willing to accept one's condition, both advantages and disadvantages. This research uses quantitative correlational methods. The subjects in this research were 349 women who were victims of domestic violence. The results of testing the first hypothesis show a value of f = 12.233 and p = 0.000 (p <0.05), meaning that there is a significant relationship between gratitude and self-control with self-acceptance in women victims of domestic violence. The results of the second hypothesis show a significant positive relationship between gratitude and self-acceptance with a Pearson correlation value of 0.190 and p = 0.000 (p <0.05), meaning that the higher the gratitude, the higher the self-acceptance of women victims of domestic violence. In the third hypothesis, there is significant positive relationship between self-control and self-acceptance with a Pearson correlation value of 0.184 and p = 0.004 (p <0.05), meaning that the higher the self-control, the higher the self acceptance of women who are victims of domestic violence. Gratitude and self control provide an effective contribution to self-acceptance of 6.6%
