Abstract

Rice farming is a crucial sector for Indonesia's food security; however, it faces challenges such as climate change, land limitations, and inefficient resource utilization. This study designs an Internet of Things (IoT)-based monitoring system incorporating Quality of Service (QoS) analysis to provide real-time environmental data. The system employs a NodeMCU ESP8266 along with DHT22 and soil moisture sensors to monitor temperature, air humidity, and soil moisture levels. Sensor readings are transmitted via a Wi-Fi network using the HTTP protocol and displayed on a web interface. QoS analysis is essential to ensure reliable and stable data transmission. Testing was conducted on parameters including delay, jitter, throughput, and packet loss. The results demonstrate strong system performance, with delay under 150 ms, jitter below 75 ms, and packet loss under 1%—placing it in the "excellent" category according to TIPHON standards. This system facilitates rapid decision-making for farmers and enhances rice farming efficiency through data-driven, real-time monitoring.
