Abstract
Early marriage occurs in many parts of the world with various backgrounds and has become a concern for the international community considering the risks that arise from forced marriage. Many factors influence the occurrence of early marriage. This study aims to prove the existence of a joint relationship between parental support and self-concept variables with the tendency of early marriage. The population was 315 adolescents, the sample was determined by cluster random sampling and 264 adolescents were taken. The design of this study was quantitative with a correlational approach. The measurement scale in this study was a Likert scale consisting of four alternative answers. Data analysis used multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there was a joint relationship between parental support and self concept with early marriage. Proven by a correlation value of 0.780 (p<0.01). Early marriage in the low category was 5 (1.89%), the medium category was 112 (42.42%) and the high category was 147 (55.68%). It can be concluded that early marriage is in the high category. The effective contribution of parental support and self-concept in predicting early marriage is 60.8% while the remaining 39.2% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study
